Alana Siegel was born in Los Angeles in 1985. Archipelago is her debut book of poetry. Her chapbooks include The Occupations, Semata, Words from Ra Ra Junction, Yak Fat, among others. She is an essayist and director—notable productions include: “Anne’s White Glove” by Alice Notley, presented within the Alette in Oakland Conference (Oakland, 2014) and “Persephone’s Dream,” a 12 hour research performance, intertwining elements of Noh theater, the Patrons of the Orders of Husbandry, and the Eleusinian Mysteries. She is a practicing buddhist, presently living in the Catskill mountains.
