In the summer of 1969, as the Vietnam War rages and NASA lands on the moon, two twenty-two year-olds on a quest for spiritual significance meet an extraordinary teacher in the backwoods of Georgia – an elfish woman named Elsie, who brings them into experiences and perceptions totally alien to anything they had known before. With an ear cocked to inaudible voices, Elsie keeps her pupils awestruck through object lessons (like “alchemical cooking”) in her message – how they all might serve the Spiritual Hierarchy with whom she works to further the evolution of consciousness on our planet.
